Following the NATO Summit held on July 7–8, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared that Türkiye has significantly elevated its international stature. The summit, which he termed a historic success, was attended by notable world leaders, including US President Donald Trump. Erdoğan emphasized that the event underscored Türkiye’s burgeoning influence in global diplomacy.
At the summit, NATO leaders reached a consensus on the necessity of eliminating obstacles to defense industry cooperation. In a move that further highlights Türkiye’s strategic role, Erdoğan announced that a Counter-Unmanned Systems Centre of Excellence will be established in the city of Konya. This development is expected to enhance Türkiye’s contributions to NATO’s defense capabilities.
Erdoğan also highlighted the success of the summit’s Defence Industry Forum, which attracted nearly 1,000 participants. He expressed optimism that the event would not only bolster tourism but also enhance Türkiye’s international reputation. The forum served as a platform for strengthening Türkiye’s ties with other nations and promoting its defense industry.
In addition to these achievements, Erdoğan expressed his intention to deepen Türkiye’s cooperation with the United States, setting an ambitious target of increasing bilateral trade to $100 billion. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s dedication to fostering regional peace and stability, a commitment that remains a cornerstone of his administration’s foreign policy.
Moreover, Erdoğan extended his condolences to Qatar on the passing of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, reflecting Türkiye’s diplomatic engagement and solidarity with regional partners.
