For the first time, Türkiye’s defense and aerospace exports have surpassed $11 billion on a rolling 12-month basis, signaling a significant achievement for the nation’s defense sector. In June alone, exports reached $802.8 million, marking a 29.6% increase compared to the same month in the previous year. The first half of the year saw exports rise by 29.5% year-on-year, totaling $4.67 billion.
Haluk Görgün, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), attributed this growth to the rising global demand for Turkish defense products and the ongoing expansion of the country’s defense manufacturing capabilities. He highlighted that Turkish defense systems have proven effective in real-world operations, which has helped in establishing enduring international partnerships.
Over the past two decades, Türkiye has significantly developed its domestic defense industry, reducing its dependence on foreign military equipment while emerging as a major global exporter. The country now exports over 230 defense products to 185 countries, and it is focused on strengthening its position among the world’s top 10 defense exporters.
This expansion in Türkiye’s defense exports reflects not only the quality and reliability of its defense systems but also its strategic efforts to build a comprehensive defense manufacturing ecosystem. As international demand for Turkish-made defense products continues to grow, Türkiye is poised to enhance its global standing in the defense sector.
