Türkiye and Saudi Arabia are set to deepen their judicial cooperation following recent talks between Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and his Saudi counterpart, Walid bin Muhammad Al Samaani, held in Ankara. The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in judicial reforms, enhancing legal expertise, and advancing digital justice initiatives. Both countries are keen on building stronger legal systems, aligning their efforts with Türkiye’s “Century of Türkiye Vision” and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
During the meeting, Türkiye proposed sharing its experience in judicial digitalization through its National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP). This includes offering expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence-supported legal services, cybersecurity, alternative dispute resolution, and broader judicial cooperation. The emphasis was on utilizing digital tools to modernize and improve the efficiency of justice systems in both nations.
Both ministers underlined the importance of increasing official exchanges and fostering direct cooperation between legal professionals from the two countries. They believe that these measures will strengthen bilateral ties and enhance access to efficient and modern justice systems, benefiting both Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
