Denmark took the lead in the 53rd minute when a free-kick from Mikkel Damsgaard resulted in an own goal by Wales defender Ben Davies. The lead was doubled in the 66th minute when Gustav Isaksen’s deflected shot found the net after Wales failed to clear the ball.
Denmark continued to threaten with more opportunities to extend their lead. Wales managed to find the back of the net late in the game, but the goal was disallowed due to a foul by Ethan Ampadu.
The loss follows Wales’ 1-0 defeat against Portugal in their opening match. Wales manager Craig Bellamy acknowledged Denmark’s superiority and the challenging nature of the result but expressed determination to improve the team’s performance.
Looking ahead, Wales will face Norway next, followed by a rematch with Denmark in Cardiff, as they aim to recover from a tough start to their Nations League campaign.
